Description
Central Icon: This depiction of the Virgin Mary is Russian in origin. It is believed that this original Byzantine icon was painted by St. Luke, one of the 12 Disciples. In Russia they call her “The Most Holy Mother of God”. This icon shows the Mother of God holding the Christ child close to her heart with tenderness.
