Description
Legend tells us this saint was once an officer of the Roman Army and a good friend of Emperor Maximian. Sergios is known for refusing the emperors’ demands for sacrifices to a Pagan god. He was stripped of his military rank and clothing then dragged through the streets dressed in feminine clothing. Sergios remained steadfast in his refusal to recant his faith in Christ, he was tortured and beheaded.
