Description
Saint Daria was a pagan until she met her husband, Saint Chrysanthos, whom she married with purpose to “seduce” him and make him deny his Christian faith. However, she was baptized and became a martyr for her faith together with her husband during the reign of King Numerianos (243 – 284 A.D.). The endurance and perseverance of both impressed their “torturer” Claudius, the commander of the Battalion, who together with his wife and children converted to Christianity. All of them were buried alive for their faith, in 283 A.D. Saint Daria Feast day is October 25th for Roman Catholic Church and March 19th for Eastern Orthodox Church.
