Description
Saint Anthony of Padua was born in Lisbon, Portugal the year 1195. At a young age he knew he was to live his life in accordance with God’s will. When he was 15 he went to the Abbey of Santa Cruz in Coimbra, then the capital of Portugal to study theology and Latin. Ordination into the priesthood Saint Anthony began his travels spreading the Good Word of God over different groups and countries. Saint Anthony is best known for his preaching ability and his miracles involving lost people, articles and lost spiritual items. He was canonized May 30, 1232 by Pope Gregory IX a year after his death. Saint Anthony’s Feast Day is June 13th.
