Description
Empress, Martyr, wife of the emperor Diocletian. Saint Alexandra’s belief in Christ had her banished to Syria and after refusing a proposal from Emperor Maximinus, her daughter St. Valeria was sent to join her. After Maximinus died, they both returned by the mercy of Emperor Licinius who had subscribed to the Edict of Milan, giving Christian’s freedom of religion. Still remaining an enemy, Licinius gave orders to execute the Holy Empress Alexandra and her daughter, Valeria.
