His right hand raised in blessing, holding an orb representing the world on His lap and the stem of a lily with three blooms symbolize the Holy Trinity. The Eternal Bloom icon is known since the end of the 17th century. One of the most important early examples of this Christian icon was kept in the Moscow’s Alekseevsky Female Monastery in the 18th century, where it was venerated as miracle-working. Unfortunately, this antique Russian icon of the Mother of God has not survived until our days, though its copies can be found worldwide.
