Also known as Saint Catherine of Alexandria, Egypt. What is known about her is that she lived in the 4th century under the rule of the Emperor Maximus. She was born into a noble family and was an avid scholar at the age of 14.
She had a vision of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus. She then begins to preach the word of God. The emperor being frightened that she would convert many people to Christianity, ordered Catherine to be tortured and imprisoned. Unable to get her to denounce her Christianity, the emperor asked her to marry him. She refused saying she was married to Christ. She was killed by beheading.
