Saint Anthony

Saint Anthony is a special saint, the saint we pray to, to find lost things. A young Anthony is appointed to teach young Friars the scriptures, he is given a priceless gift of the four Gospels, handwritten. One of his students, being greedy, decides to steal the Gospels and goes from town-to-town trying to sell these.

No one will buy them as they all know they had been stolen. Anthony, after finding out the Gospels are missing, is more concerned about his student’s soul being lost and not of his priceless books. He then prays and prays endlessly for the return of his student.

Unable to sell the books, the student returns to Saint Anthony, where he returns the books and kisses Father Anthony’s feet. Anthony takes pity on the young friar and appoints Luca, the student, to be his personal secretary. After Saint Anthony’s death, Luca travels throughout Europe and the East, telling the story of this great man. Luca is later buried with Anthony.
